Thanks to everyone who has written or called to express their support over the past year- it made the days that much easier and I feel extremely fortunate to have such great friends and family. I am indeed back in the States now, making the rounds to see family and kicking back a little. I plan to post some commentary on this site from time to time, so feel free to drop in occassionally.

Please keep in mind those who remain in Iraq and other postings around the world: the soldiers and officers of our military, as well as the many others who serve our other government agencies- they are definitely also serving as our 'troops'.

And keep in your thoughts and hearts the people of Baghdad, who strive to achieve what eludes so many: peace and security and a happy place to raise their children. God willing, they will see it come to pass. Insha-allah.
