The
Veterans Leadership Program hosted a great event last Saturday down on Carson Street in Pittsburgh, bringing together a variety of support and fellowship organizations involved with our veteran community here in Southwestern PA. Pictured here is William Cole, the driving force behind the University of Pittsburgh's
Pitt Vets group and the initiator of the BBQ event. Will, a fellow GSPIA student and veteran Marine, delivered a few remarks about the opportunities for vets in the area and thanked the many event participants, like folks from the
Pittsburgh VA, Pitt's
Office of Veterans Services, and the great team of organizers serving with
Public Allies. Just a great afternoon of camaraderie, and more than a few South Side hot dogs! Many thanks to those dedicated to supporting veterans and their families in the Pittsburgh area.
